Mission:

The Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center is a non-profit organization that provides quality arts instruction to under-served students in South Los Angeles.  Through a program of structured instruction and curriculum, students build self-esteem, develop civic responsibility through regular community service projects, and learn to apply the same dedication and commitment to academic achievement.

The Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center serves students that reside within a five-mile radius from 43rd and Crenshaw.  Six high schools and eight middle schools are within this geographical area.  Those schools offer little or no performing arts programs.  Crenshaw High School offers the most comprehensive program with its marching band and choir.  Neighboring Dorsey High School does not offer any instruction in musical instruments and theater, and there are no middle schools in the area that offer any comprehensive performing arts program.
