Performing Arts Education

The Pullum Center provides free arts instruction to more than 600 students, ages 5 to 20, at our headquarters and partner schools. Classes are designed to run throughout the school year with at least three opportunities for each student to showcase their talent at community performances. Each student receives personalized instruction based on their age and level of experience.

Our goals are to:

  • Improve students’ academic success.

  • Develop students’ self-esteem and leadership skills, impart sense of belonging and reduce self-destructive behavior.

  • Increase students’ appreciation for the performing arts and how participation can improve their lives.

  • Contribute to local community through performances and service activities.

Our current partnering schools include:

  • Marcus Garvey

  • Wilders Preparatory

  • Grace Hopper

  • 54th Street

  • Little Angels Preschool

Thanks to your band and organization for being a part of my jazz festival. They were superb! Thank you all again and they were fantastic!"
