Jazz Band will perform at a California Jazz Foundation benefit to honor the Jeff Clayton Band. The Don Was Tribute Band, a band specially assembled for the evening's activities, will also perform. Band members include Dan Was, Marcus Miller, Paul Jackson Jr., Ronnie Foster, and Clayton Cameron.

Shining Light Foundation has sponsored the creation of a mural on the side wall of the FPCAC building. The mural features three important black musicians. The unveiling of the mural will take place at 1 PM on April 17, 2022.

Jazz Band will play at Catalina Jazz Club along with the Los Angeles All City Jazz Band and the Oakland -Eastside All Star Jazz Ensemble. The event has been organized by Fernando Pullum.

Jazz Band Combo will perform at Homeboy Industries Annual Gala honoring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Mike Stroller of the renowned songwriting/producing team (Leiber & Stoller) who co-wrote 70 rock n' roll chart hits. Homebody Industries is the largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world. 

Please join us on Friday, 2/25/2022 at 6 PM to celebrate Black History Month at the Pullum Center. Due to COVID restrictions, only one family member is invited to attend in person per student. Live stream information is available on the flyer.

Jazz Band will play for students & staff at the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles in their new facility designed by Frank Gehry Architects. Following the concert, Fernando and the Pullum Center students will hold a workshop on jazz music.

Brass Band plays Mardi Gras music for this 7PM to midnight fundraiser to support scholarships at Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA. This connection with the university scholarship fund is expected to accrue to the benefit of Pullum Center students. 

38th Annual Black History Parade & Festival

Marching Band and Dance Team perform at this all-day parade & festival sponsored by the City Human Services & Recreation Dept and community organizations to celebrate achievements and contributions of African Americans  

Grammy Awards Week 

Staples Center

250 students (Jazz Band, Dancers, Singers, Actors) perform with Grammy winner in front of Staples Center, the day before the Grammy Awards Ceremony, to promote music education. The event is sponsored by Grammy Educational Foundation and the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. Additionally, Jazz Band and Singers record on the John Lennon Bus Mon-Friday with previous Grammy winners.

Marching Band and Dance Team perform in the MLK parade. The 2.5-mile parade is the nation's biggest celebration of the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. and includes more than 150 floats, bands, equestrian units, dance and martial arts ensembles and other groups--involving more than 3,000 people. The parade is televised on local TV.

Choir Members record a track with singer/songwriter John Legend for his Christmas CD. The track is the John Lennon song Happy Christmas (War is Over).

Pullum Center student Simone Baker sings America the Beautiful at the beginning of the evening session in Arthur Ashe Stadium. Twelve young people from around the country were selected to perform at the Open from nearly 350 singers who submitted performances via a national online audition.

Because of its great success last year, the Jazz Band has been invited back to perform at the annual Gardena Jazz Festival to celebrate the original American art form. Stanley Clark will headline the show. Over 10,000 people attend each year.
